Camaro: Fuse Box Diagram
If your windshield wipers, air conditioner, or similar electronic device stops functioning, first check the fuse or relay. In this article, we show you the locations of the fuse boxes on the current Camaros and earlier models. And we show the function of the various fuses and relays so you are familiar with this part of your car in case of a problem.
This article applies to the Chevrolet Camaro (1990-2015).
A combination of fuses, relays, and fuseable links protect the electrical circuits in your Camaro.
Current Model Camaros
The current Camaros have three fuse box locations: one to the left of the steering wheel, one under the hood, and another in the trunk.
Interior Fuse Box
Locate the interior fuse box to the left of the steering column, on the dash board covered by a panel.
Use your hands or a screwdriver to gently pry the panel away from the dash on which it is mounted.

Rear Fuse Box (Current Models)
A third fuse box is located on the right side of the trunk of current model Camaros. To access it, remove the following in order:
- Six convenience net retainers
- The rear sill plate
- Two passenger side trim retainers
After you remove the trim retainers, swing the trim out of the way to access the fuse box.

1993 to 2002 Model Camaros
The model year 1993 to 2002 Camaros have two fuse boxes. They are located similarly to the current models, except there is no rear fuse box.

1982-1992 Model Camaros
Locate the fuse box for these models similarly to the above models: on the left side of the dash board near where your left knee is when you drive.
Helpful Hints
What a Worn Fuse Looks Like
You can tell a fuse is blown by looking at it. The metal inside the fuse is no longer one piece but two.
Quick Relay Test
Since you can't tell if a relay is blown by looking at it, you can conduct this simple test.
- Remove a non-critical relay, such as an air conditioner relay or radio relay of the same amperage from its position in the fuse box.
- Remove the suspect relay.
- Place the non-critical relay in the position of the suspect relay.
- If the connect is OK with the temporary relay, you know you have a bad relay.
